..rejection?
I do not remember AfriNIC elections being held  to reject anyone. The vote is always held to elect not reject candidates who have shown the willingness to serve on volunteer basis.  
Not winning is not the same as being rejected.  Last time I checked very useful members of community were not elected in the recent past but continue to engage positively. 
Alain A, Badru, Paulos  never made it back to the Board.  I did not know that, that meant community had rejected them. Maybe  we change our bylaws to reflect this new reasoning?

Why does the board appoint someone that community rejected in a public
vote? Did board consider reasons behind community rejection of Fiona?
Has board decided to neglect the opinion of the community therefore?
Is Fiona the only one in the whole continent that board could appoint
to the position after she lost community trust in the same position?

Doesnt the board owe community an explanation for this action?
