[rpd] AF-38 PPM kickoff and timelines

Dear PDWG,


The second AFRINIC Public Policy Meeting (PPM) in 2026 will be held on 18 November 2026 in hybrid mode in Cape Town South Africa.


The draft agenda below allows for 6 policy proposals to be tabled. At the moment, subject to authors withdrawing or merging their proposals, five (5) draft policy proposals are under discussion and will figure on the agenda.

This allows us to accept only one new policy proposal so as to have adequate time for discussion in the one-day PPM.

We therefore encourage the authors to either update their proposals based on feedback received in the AF-37 PPM or notify us if they wish to withdraw their proposals.

We also request the PDWG to discuss the proposals objectively and avoid repetition of the same objections.


The following timelines according to the PDP documented in Section 3 of the Consolidated Policy Manual are to be considered: -


18 October 2026 - Any new proposal submission [to be tabled at the AF-38 PPM). Limited to one more unless we have withdrawals/merging communicated.

4 November 2026 - Final agenda of PPM will be published.

11 November 2026 - Final draft of proposals on agenda submission [no further changes will be allowed till the PPM day].

18 Nov 2026 -Public Policy Meeting.
