I will take the opportunity, to explain what the last call is meant for:

It is not *to repeat* the arguments against the proposal that have been already addressed, as confirmed by the chairs.
It is only in case *new and NOT addressed objections* are discovered.

I will suggest those opposing to read RFC8282 to understand that.

If you don’t want to read the full document, a summary of that, as accepted in other RIRs and as submmitted in my PDP update proposal:

The purpose of the “last call” is to provide the community with a brief and final opportunity to comment on the DPP, especially those who didn’t earlier. Consequently, during this period editorial comments may be submitted and, exceptionally, objections if any aspect is discovered that was not considered in the discussion prior to determining consensus. Any new objections must also be substantiated and must therefore not be based on opinions lacking a technical justification.

Yes, our PDP is not explicit on that, but chairs could confirm if they will accept repeated and already refuted objections or they are just looking for something new that can not be addressed.

We can save a lot of time to all the community if that’s made clear, so already addressed objections aren’t repeated every hour until we finish the last-call.

Jordi

+1 Anthony.

I’d also like to add that this policy should go back to discussion for the simple reason that it completely misreads the main role of RIRs.

This is an invalid objection.

More precisely, and as many individuals have commented on the PPM,

100 people against and 10 people in favor might still be rough consensus.

RIRs have nothing to do with the resource routing process, it is safe to say that it is totally out of their mandate scope.

What do you think of the IRR run by AFRINIC?

Should AFRINIC still run an IRR?
