Hi Beatrix,

Below in-line as [Jordi].

Dear all,

As many before me expressed their concerns, I have to agree especially with the following points:

In the case of this proposal, for example under 4. Lack of Compliance (AFRINIC will be able to initiate a more exhaustive investigation and take further actions) or under 5. Service Withholding, Revocation or Member Closure) a.: AFRINIC will attempt to contact the member and rectify the situation., etc

[Jordi] This is already the way is done today *manually all the way thru* (AFRINIC has some automation for some issues, but not all), which means many policies are never actually verified for compliance, however, this is done after a non-automated detection of an issue which means extra cost. Moreover, not having everything automated means:
Not all the members can be “validated” against compliance at the same time.
Takes more time to “validate” all the members.
It creates a discrimination, because some members are “validated” earlier than others.

All these points clearly show a waste of resources of AFRINIC, which could be much better divided, where there is a stronger need for them, especially in the current situation.
Furthermore, all these points and added layers massively overcomplicate the system, which can lead to many confused and/ or overwhelmed members (by all the sent notifications, which could lead to not checking the system at all) , who might be discouraged by this confusion and will not do anything about the violations.

Meanwhile, members, who anyway violate policies are aware of their actions and choose to proceed anyway, therefore the dashboard would be ignored in any case.

[Jordi] If a member goes to a court in case of having recovered its resources, the chances to convince the judges about “I was not aware” of my lack of compliance, are much bigger than when you have an explicit dashboard and notification system. Also the member can tell “I’m being discriminated, I see this and that member doing the same, and they have not got the resrouces reclaimed, because the system is not automated”. This is real life.

Therefore I oppose this policy.

Dear all,

This "POLICY COMPLIANCE DASHBOARD" seems to me a case of misplaced priorities. It will surely lead to complexities and unnecessary dissipation of energy and limited resources because AFRINIC should already be keeping track of the policy violation.

In essence, I DO NOT see the purpose of such policy here. Therefore, I DO NOT SUPPORT it. Thank you.
