[rpd] Revised Proposal | Chairs Elections Process (Draft-2)

Hi Daniel,

Then we agree. This proposal is not asking for a radical change, is asking for a model like the one used in this meeting and self-contained in the PDP, not in an external “board decided” vs “community decided” process.

Regards,

Jordi

I am not convinced that we needed to completely change the process of electing the Co-chairs

I rather prefer that we perfect who the voters should be, because fundamentally that is where our problems lie. And if we want to add online voting, to the in person that will be another expansion, considering travelling will be limited in the nearest future.

This proposal should go the direction of consolidation as against total alteration.

Simply,

Daniel

Hi Cathie,

Can you state what part of the text is what you disagree, I don't really understand your concerns.

Dear all,

I oppose this policy because of its objective to drastically reduce
participation. The principle for equal representation will be violated
since the board would make decisions behind close doors. Any
information on the mechanisms of that vote are also missing,
especially on the system of electronic vote. The policy as it is
currently drafted calls for an intensive use of Afrinic’s resources
and this will, in the long-term lead to the loss of its efficiency.

All best wishes,

Cathie

So, it needs to be more clear.
> I think that this "A term may begin or end no sooner than the first day of the Public Policy Meeting and no later than the last day of the Public Policy Meeting as determined by the mutual agreement of the current Chair and the new Chair. " contradicts the earlier statement which clearly states when the term ends.
