[rpd] Policy Compliance Dashboard - AFPUB-2020-GEN-001-DRAFT01

Hi Chloe,

Thanks for your inputs!

Actually, this is why I don’t agree with the previous inputs about being “too prescriptive”. I think the proposal is sufficiently “right in the middle” to:
As much automated as possible (today is manually done, it takes time, it cost extra money, it means less efficiency, not same treatment of all the members – because you can’t survey all at the same time, etc.)
If something goes wrong, the staff is alerted, also the alert goes to the member.
The staff can take decisions, look if something was accidental and help to clarify or resolve it, even tell the RPD “guys some people is interpreting this policy text wrongly, we need to clarify it”, etc.
If something was not accidental, because a “bad” member is repeating “mistakes” (rather say “policy violations”?) take actions.
The RSA will then be used in case of repeated/persistent violations (the policy doesn’t need to re-state that!).

On your last point, the dashboard will *send” also notifications (I expect email, but this is up to the staff to find the best procedures – to avoid being too prescriptive –, today may be email or even whatsapp, tomorrow may be something else, I’m just using examples), not need to “log-in” to see if there is a problem.

Regards,

Jordi

Hi

I have read the proposals. And I think indeed having this policy compliance dashboard might provide a buffer before any serious and heavy penalty being taken when one member violates any of the policies, hence gives Afrinic the flexibility. However the proposal doesn’t have a comprehensive system of how the board should take the proper actions when there is violation, nor does it say what is considered to be appropriate actions to different levels of policy violation.

Also, I don’t think the problem that’s needed to be solved is tracking and sending notification of policy violation when there is one automatically as the tracking has always been done by the staff, but to understand the reasons behind or instructing them on how to resolve the problem. Not to mention it creates a loophole for the members to use their ignorance of the notification/reminder/warning since nothing guarantees they will be checking the dashboard.

Regards,

Chloe
