[rpd] Version: 5.0 "Internet Number Resources review by AFRINIC"

Arnaud,

Let me make this crystal clear on this list –

You state:

We have noted your support to a v6.0 with the new 13.3.1 . Same for the two others who also opposed v5.0 for the same reason.

Until I state explicitly that I support – do not note my support for anything – my support is not something to be derived, and when I support this policy, I will state so – until then my stated opposition stands and I will go into more detail in a further email.

I hope this is clear.

Andrew

Hi Nishal,

We acknowledged that this has been raised and discussed. Main concerns being addressed were issues of limited resources. The authors have no issue with turning the 13.3.1 to the text below:

{
 13.3.1 Random
The member is chosen by AFRINIC at random between the membership.
}

We trust Afrinic for making the right choices with the available resources for an efficient review of usage of allocated resources.

We have noted your support to a v6.0 with the new 13.3.1 . Same for the two others who also opposed v5.0 for the same reason.

The new version under discussion is the outcome of our works with the legal counsel and staff to address all the legal issues raised. We encourage the community to read, digest the changes and comment.

Regards

Arnaud

Dear AFRINIC PDWG,

A new updated version (Version: 5.0) of the policy proposal "AFPUB-2016-GEN-001-DRAFT-05" titled "Internet Number Resources review by AFRINIC" has been received and published in the policy development portal in the following link

https://afrinic.net/en/community/policy-development/policy-proposals/2231-internet-number-resources-review-by-afrinic<https://afrinic.net/en/community/policy-development/policy-proposals/2231-internet-number-resources-review-by-afrinic>

We shall consider this version on our discussion in the next PDP session.

sadly the part about treating all members equally seems to be ignored; 13.3.1 still doesn’t include all members, and as has been repeatedly explained, the smaller members are just as guilty of using resources unwisely.

so, still oppose, until it’s made clear (in text) that the same rules apply to everyone.
