Thanks for your kind words. We have many organisational challenges and unfortunately have a collective maturity problem not because we are not capable but because we have opted for mediocrity.
We are capable of much more in all areas from policy to governance to building a stable sustainable organisation. But have decided to settle for average.
A few mad men in the room are necessary. To keep us all on our feet.

Hello Badru,
I think it should be clear that you have a unique status within the community and when you make comments/contributions it could naturally become basis to make past references that does not necessarily positively address the present situation(that is nature). This definitely should not make you stop talking just that it should not be too surprising when you get a challenging response. In my country, the past President has avoided making public comments on the present one, so I commend your courage for even contributing to this extent.
I don't think anyone has acted as proxy on this list so far otherwise such person would not have the right to contribute on the list. It will be good for staff to check if this is not the case.
By the way, it's fun that you are no longer at the receiving end of all these ;-) but I am sure you know what it feels like to be at that end of the rope.
Looking forward to more constructive contributions from you and everyone.

Hi Badru,
While not holding brief for Owen in this matter, It is important to set
the records straight:

The third, fourth and fifth paragraph under 4.1. are clear.
I still take responsibility for what I have promised to do, but please
do not try to rewrite documented history.
I continue to value all your constructive engagements.
I have read the minutes. while many suggestions might be made at the AGM. They are all not taken on as a commitment from the board and thus do not make it to the activity plan.
I’m sure if we peruse the minutes we will see that many community members had many more suggestions. And this is not new for AGM’s the world over members offer ideas and suggestions to the board.
on the same issue i’m sure you were board member at the time with shared responsibility. And I’m sure you can share the boards FULL activities for the year to see where and how the board worked on the said community suggestions or did not and why.
The current item on discussion was taken on by board and a commitment made at the last meeting.
I do not understand why we are using all methods of deflection from a simple request.
lets stop scoring points it does not build the community.
i asked for a date and somehow the thread deteriorated into personalization through proxy.
Please remember the community is wider than the few of us and we need to stop this thinking that everyone has an axe to grind.
We choose to serve the community in any way we decide. We do not need to like each other we just need to have a share cause which is the growth and sustainability of the Afrinic Community.
I’m glad you have given a date lets move on.
I also plead we rise above this pettiness.
My emails were very simple, deliverables deliverables.
Looking forward to constructive dialogue.
regards
