I meant....
[ PS: In fact I would like to suggest for Badru to fall back from
exercising his rights as a community member since his subjective opinions
are being looked upon with a biased point of view which fundamentally
doesn't help the entire community....]

Owen? Please dont drag us into the Badru past and present actions as they
are irrelevant to progress....
What is so difficult in giving the community an indicative timeline? Yes we
know we are all used to the whole T.I.A thing but we can't expect to see
changes if we continue behaving this way.....
It's as simple as [ dear community, expect us to get back to you within a
month or so ]....
We can't be reminding folk of their responsibilities whether it's Badru
requesting for an update or a different member of the community...
PS: In fact I would to suggest for Badru to fall back from his exercising
his rights as a community member since his subjective opinions are being
looked upon with a biased point of view which fundamentally does help the
entire community....

While I do agree that some milestones and target dates for this process
should soon be forthcoming
from the board, I will point out that Badru’s is the first request for them.
I want to give Mr. Ntege the benefit of the doubt and presume that he only
seeks to improve AfriNIC,
but it is difficult under the circumstances when you consider that the very
behavior he now criticizes
was his own behavior while he was chair. Two of the three years that this
process has dragged on
so far were under his leadership as chairman of the board. I am glad to see
that he is now interested
in moving forward with greater board accountability, but I wish he had been
such a staunch activist
while he was still a member of that august body.
Now is a time of many leadership changes in AfriNIC. I have a high degree
of confidence in the
new leadership, but they have inherited an overwhelming amount of action
items. This is not to
make excuses, so much as to say let’s allow them to do their jobs.
If another month goes by and we have not seen some steps and target dates
from the board
based on the output of the committee assigned to this task, then perhaps
there is reason for
concern. However, expecting a complete response to such a large ask within
a week of making
the original request is not reasonable in my opinion.
I do not believe it is in Sunday’s nature to drag his feet on action
requested by the community,
nor do I think he is resistant to transparency or to the governance
committee.
