[AfrICANN-discuss] Africa Top Level Domains Organization 2019 Annual Report

Hi Mark,

Good questions.

I would take hosts to mean unique IP addresses associated with domain names
under the TLD.

For example.

mail.xyz.co.za
www.xyz.co.za
pbx.xyz.co.za
webmail.xyz.co.za
nfs.xyz.co.za
crm.xyz.co.za
billing.xyz.co.za

That’s potentially 7 different hosts.

Also for NG it could the one IP address with (let’s say) 200 domains
pointing to it would still be counted as one host and not 200. So there are
some underlying issues that might be surfacing via this line of enquirer.

Anyway just adding my thoughts to the confusion!

Thanks for raising these very good points Alan! Glad too see there is still
enough gray matter left to analyse these issues, lol!

Regards,

Brian
