Yes, price is partly African ccTLDs don't sell but technology is part of 
it too.
I wouldn't patronize a registry that registers domains manually - 
neither as a registrar nor as a registrant. Once a registry is fully 
automated, its well on the way to success.

Another problem with African ccTLDs is, many of them are closed to 
non-residents of their respective countries.
That's a story for another day.
