[rpd] Fwd: PDWG Co-Chairs Recall Request

In my opinion this recall is broken in many aspects.

The recall process is part of a PDP section devoted to conflict resolution with the chairs (3.5).

Part A of the recall document is describing facts that are not “chairs” attributions, but decisions of the community, which have been supported by the staff and confirmed by the Board. So, for those arguments to be taken in consideration, you should use some alternative procedure, as the chairs were NOT responsible of their own selection decision, they just volunteered for that.

In your part B, you’re trying to use the fact that, in opinion of some community members, the chairs erred about the consensus determination in a proposal, with has been already appealed.

You mention that the chairs do not understand their duties, but you don’t probe that. In the previous recall it was clear that they were miss-interpreting the PDP, which I don’t think it has been the case in the consensus determination of the AFPUB-2019-GEN-006-DRAFT03.

If you disagree with the consensus determination (as you’re doing in all the rationale of your section B), the right procedure is not a recall process, but an appeal, as already done, strictly following 3.5.

Otherwise, you can bomb the PDWG with both, at the same time, recall processes and appeals, for every decision made by the co-chairs, which clearly is out of order and out of the correct PDP process follow up.

I urge the Board to determine if, on the same topic, both an Appeal and a Recall can be instated, so we avoid wasting more precious PDWG time.

Jordi

Dear community,

I have recently sent a request to the Afrinic Board of Directors to recall the PDWG co-chairs, based on their recent actions on both the last policy meeting and the RPD list, that have proven their inability to effectively perform their duties to comply with the process and address the concerns expressed on certain policies.

For the community's information, I have forwarded below my email to the board, along with their response acknowledging the recall request, which will be discussed at the board's meeting on August 18th.

Also, please find attached the PDF document outlining the recall request's detailed arguments and justifications.

Best regards,

Lamiaa

Dear Afrinic Board of Directors,

I am writing this email on behalf of myself and other community members, enlisted on the attached document, to request the recall of the current PDWG co-chairs. Their recent actions on both the last policy meeting and the RPD list have proved their inability to effectively perform their duties to comply with the process and address the concerns expressed on certain policies.

Therefore, in order to reinstate the stability of the process of the PDWG, we find it necessary to request the recall of the current co-chairs and replace them.

Please find attached the document outlining the appropriate justifications and supporting arguments of our demand.

Best regards,

Lamiaa

Dear Ms Chnayti,

The Board received a request from you to recall the PDWG
co-Chairs. The matter will be on the Board agenda at the meeting
scheduled for 18 August.

I will inform the PDWG co-Chairs about your request as a matter of fairness.

Regards,
S. Moonesamy

Board Chair, AFRINIC
