[rpd] Implemented policies - AFPUB-2019-IPv6-001-DRAFT02 & AFPUB-2019-IPv6-002-DRAFT01

Dear community members,

AFRINIC is pleased to make the following announcements:

*i) The policy proposal **IPv6 PI clarification policy
ID AFPUB-2019-IPv6-001-DRAFT02  has now been fully implemented. *

As a result of this implementation:

a) Members are able to request for rectification of their IPv6 prefix
via an online form.

b) AFRINIC shall use a sparse allocation algorithm when issuing space .

c) Members not compliant with the Section 6.8.2.iv) of the CPM notably
"The organisation must deploy the IPv6 provider-independent address
space at each of the end-sites, for which addresses are obtained, within
twelve (12) months." will be informed automatically of their
non-compliance and requested to comply in the timeframe proposed. 

*ii) The policy proposal Adjusting IPv6 PA Policy
ID AFPUB-2019-IPv6-002-DRAFT01 has also been implemented.*

As a result of this implementation, LIR Resource Members need to satisfy
the following conditions:  

 1. Show a detailed plan to provide IPv6 connectivity/services to other
    organisations/end-users or self-owned/related
    departments/entities/sites in the AFRINIC region.
 2. Show a reasonable plan for making /48 IPv6 assignments to end sites
    in the AFRINIC region within twelve (12) months.
 3. The addressing space issued under this policy must be announced
    within twelve (12) months, and to the extent practicable, as a
    single aggregated prefix, so as to minimise global routing table
    growth. In some very special cases, space may not be announced,
    however, it must be duly justified. Those LIR members with existing
    IPv6 allocations and found not compliant with the Section 6.5.1.1 D
    of the CPM  will be informed automatically of their non-compliance
    and requested to comply in the timeframe proposed. 

 

AFRINIC has also implemented a section on myafrinic, the member portal, 
for a member to verify its compliance with the above policies (where
applicable). Information for AFRINIC members in regard to these policies

iii) The Consolidated Policy Manual v1.6 is published on the AFRINIC

policy Adjusting IPv6 PA Policy ID AFPUB-2019-IPv6-002-DRAFT01

*i) La proposition de politique de clarification de l'IPv6 PI
ID ****AFPUB-2019-IPv6-001-DRAFT02* * a maintenant été intégralement
implémentée.*

A la suite de cette implémentation :

a) Les membres sont en mesure de faire une demande de rectification de
leur préfixe IPv6 via un formulaire en ligne.

b) L'AFRINIC utilise un algorithme pour l'allocation des adresses afin
de maximiser les chances de succès du mécanisme défini au paragraphe
précédent.

c) Les membres ne se conformant pas à la section 6.8.2.iv) de la CPM
notamment "L'organisation doit déployer l'espace d'adressage indépendant
du fournisseur IPv6 sur chaque sites finaux, pour lesquels des adresses
sont obtenues, dans un délai de douze (12) mois" seront automatiquement
informés de leur non-conformité et invités à se conformer dans le délai
proposé.

*ii) La proposition de politique Adjusting IPv6 PA Policy ID
AFPUB-2019-IPv6-002-DRAFT01 a aussi été implémentée.*


A la suite de cette implémentation, les membres ressources - LIR doivent
satisfaire les conditions suivantes:

 1. Présenter un plan détaillé pour fournir une connectivité/services
    IPv6 à d'autres organisations/utilisateurs finaux ou à des
    départements/entités/sites propres/liés dans la région AFRINIC.
 2. Présenter un plan raisonnable pour effectuer des assignations /48
    IPv6 à des sites finaux dans la région AFRINIC dans un délai de
    douze (12) mois.
 3. L'espace d'adressage délivré dans le cadre de cette politique doit
    être annoncé dans les douze (12) mois, et dans la mesure du
    possible, sous la forme d'un préfixe unique agrégé, de manière à
    minimiser la croissance de la table de routage mondiale. Dans
    certains cas très particuliers, l'espace peut ne pas être annoncé,
    mais il doit être dûment justifié. Les membres LIR disposant
    d'allocations IPv6 existantes et qui ne sont pas conformes à la
    section 6.5.1.1 D de la CPM seront automatiquement informés de leur
    non-conformité et invités à se conformer dans le délai proposé.


AFRINIC a également mis en place une section sur myafrinic le portail
des membres pour qu'un membre puisse vérifier sa conformité avec les
politiques ci-dessus (le cas échéant). Les informations destinées aux

iii) Le Manuel de politique consolidé v1.6 est publié sur le site web

politique Adjusting IPv6 PA Policy ID AFPUB-2019-IPv6-002-DRAFT011
