[rpd] REQUEST TO RECALL THE AFRINIC PDWG CO-CHAIRS

Dear community,
It is my firm belief that the current request to recall the co-chairs is
not only incredibly unfounded, biased and generally done in bad faith but
is, in fact, in violation of some of the basic values AFRINIC stands for.
First of all, while this recall presents a long list of accusations, it
actually fails to support any of them with tangible evidence. And the only
evidence presented is based solely on opinions, guesses, and rumors instead
of facts. Until the exact sections of the CPM the chairs presumably
violated are stated and the exact instances when the chairs behaviors were
in any way inappropriate are brought into the light, these accusations
cannot be taken seriously.
Secondly, the person who initiated the report as well as some of its
signatories, happen to be the authors of the competing resource transfer
policy. These same authors were already previously called out for attacking
the co-chairs on the mailing list. I think this speaks to a subjective and
biased nature of the present report and ought to be considered when
assessing its relevance.
Thirdly, the harsh emotionally loaded language used in this proposal seems
to favor demonizing the co-chairs over any objective reasoning. Saying that
the co-chairs "usurped" the WG powers and made "baseless decisions to
create confusion" is not making the arguments sound more legitimate.
Rather, this adds an emotional dimension that is highly psychologically
manipulative in its nature.
And finally, this whole ordeal with the Resource Transfer Policy, the
subsequent appeals, and now this recall request violate the value of
fairness that ought to guide the PDP. In this last request, the appeals are
brought up multiple times as a justification for the validity of the
argument. However, these appeals have been pushed forward by the same group
of people who have been continuously trying to undermine the Resource
Transfer Policy in order to promote a completing policy they created. A
competing policy that have failed to reach a consensus during the course of
the PPM. This is the definition of bias and unfairness and therefore I
would urge the board to carefully consider each and every one of these
points when making a decision in regard to this request.
Best,
Ekaterina
