Dear Colleagues
AFRINIC staff usually provide impact assessments of draft policy
proposals under discussion before they are presented at a Public Policy
Meeting. The impact assessment is published on the website next to the
proposal. Based on the inputs from authors mostly during the PPM
discussions, who at times respond to the elements raised in the impact
assessment, the latter will be revised & updated on the website.
The outcome of the AFRINIC-32 PPM are two proposals that reached rough
consensus , subject to conditions as stipulated by the PDP co-chairs .
As a result, AFRINIC received the following proposals after the PPM was
concluded i.e. after 17 September 2020 :-
1.
AFPUB-2020-GEN-004-DRAFT02 - Board Prerogatives on the PDP,
https://afrinic.net/policy/proposals/2020-gen-004-d2

2.
AFPUB-2019-V4-003-DRAFT03 - Resource Transfer Policy ,

3.
AFPUB-2019-V4-003-DRAFT04 - Resource Transfer Policy ,
https://afrinic.net/policy/proposals/2019-v4-003-d4
<https://afrinic.net/policy/proposals/2019-v4-003-d4>
After assessing the proposals that were received, AFRINIC has taken the
decision to formally conduct and publish the impact assessments of these
updated proposals and any new versions that may be received on the two
policy proposals - notably Board Prerogatives on the PDP and Resource
Transfer Policy . For any inter-RIR transfer policies, the reciprocity
with other RIRs will also be updated on the impact assessment so that
they are publicly available to the community.
There will also be two new sections added to the Impact assessments for
all policy proposals , notably the financial impact on AFRINIC and legal
assessment . These sections will be progressively updated in all the
impact assessments of the proposals currently under discussion on the
AFRINIC website. AFRINIC staff will also be updating the impact
assessments with the inputs received from the authors during the
AFRINIC-32 PPM that was held in September 2020.
