Hi Anthony

I do not disagree with your comments - with one minor quibble below.

Regards

Mike

Before then, perhaps a credible alternative would have been refined and adopted by the majority for the supposedly “new normal”. I reiterate that It is wise that we extend the current tenure of the seating Co-chair, as flying a haphazard online election solution is does not align with current policy and process.

I concur with the postponement - but I think we need to move away from this concept of "the next face-to-face meeting”.

The next face-to-face meeting may be more than 12 months away. Even if it happens in 12 months, it is possible that some participants may be unable to attend because of local travel restrictions or personal / employer health protocols.

As such, I think it is incumbent on us to use the next 12 months to develop an online election protocol. I do not think we can wish the changes away and I think we must have a credible online election process (not just for the co-chairs - but for all positions) within the next 12 months.

Accordingly - I suggest that the tenure extension is until 30 June 2021, by when a new process must be in place.
