Owen.

My analogy of the “duck” seems to stand im sorry.

All the defence of the indefensible is clear that the defendant is conflicted and has admitted to be on the payroll of the said foundation that has clearly abused acceptable practice.

AfriNIC has a clear sponsorship process and as a member you are aware that you can suggest amendments to make it work better as opposed to setting up your own system that brings people who will dance to the tune of the paymaster to a meeting and rewards them for the number of times they go to the microphone regardless of content.

Your clear uncharacteristic defence of this new method is not the Owen i have known for 20 plus years.

Everything looks smells confliction. Its a sad reality but money money money seems to be attacking our PDP from all corners.

respected practitioners and unsuspecting young people have been weaponised against the system.

Jordi had a suggestion lets consider that as a way forward.

Noah,

I see what you are talking about… It’s not that I don’t see what you are claiming. It’s that I believe you are 100% wrong in your accusations and you have yet to present any evidence whatsoever.

You have yet to provide any evidence to support your claim that I am conflicted.

You have yet to provide any evidence that our fellows are being paid to represent specific opinions.

You have yet to provide any evidence that Larus foundation provides any instructions to vote in a particular way or to advocate any particular position.

While I personally would not condone or participate in a fellowship program that did either of those things, I will say that it’s not technically against any law or policy to do so. In fact, it seems pretty clear that there are other organizations that are doing so yet are not the subject of such derision on this list.

You, Arnaud, and Marcus seem unwilling to consider the possibility that we are running a legitimate fellowship program intended to benefit the community. I’ve done my best to explain, clarify, and present in an open and transparent manner what we are actually doing.

You’re entitled to your opinion. While I respect your views, and your rights to them, I think in this case, they are beyond misguided and simply factually incorrect.

Marcus,

I dont think Owen will ever understand what we are talking about.

I believe since Jordi is not conflicted that is why he was able to see through what everyone is concerned about hence his very simple proposal.

I hope that AfriNIC Limited in listening.....

There must be transparency when it comes to this matter.

Confused by your statement that “attempting to influence people’s opinions about policies is an abuse of the PDP.”

As to my opinion of Jordi’s proposal, I think some portions of it have merit, but the devil is in the details. I have no interest in engaging in a public discussion of the finer points on this mater, however, as I have no real dog in that fight. I do not believe that Jordi’s proposal would increase transparency or significantly improve the quality of our fellowship program.

Confused with all which has been said on this thread?

Can you please respond to the question in the message [1] It will help us move on.

Thanks

Marcus

I am confused… The entire purpose of this list is for us to discuss and attempt to influence people’s opinions about policies. The only way we can ever come to consensus is by influencing people’s opinions through discussion.

That is the PDP, not an abuse of the PDP. Please explain the abuse to me.

Owen
