[rpd] Larus Foundation and Afrinic PDP

@Daniel Many questions were answered and many more asked. Because an answer was given should mot bring the presumption that things are OK.

When you say previously denied. You seem to make it sound like some people were prevented. To my knowledge all AfriNIC meetings have. been streamed and also recordings made available.

Lets not deflect from real issues raised and the practical suggestions from members.

The assumption that members should just accept because enough people repeated the same answers many times does not make the issue disappear.

There’s something not right. Please listen to the voices of others and not yours only.

Dear All,

I have assumed that we have put to rest the case of Larus Foundation and have since resumed doing important things on the PDP. But I can see the devil is still in the details, regarding this matter.

I think we need to live with the fact that Larus Foundation has shown its transparency as best as they can, but this does not satisfy some members of the community. I can also see that these community members are not happy because Larus Foundation has brought "previously denied persons" to AfriNIC meeting, and in the process breaking their monopoly and strangulating hold.

I think asking AfriNIC organisation to pursue a genuine sponsor is unhealthy and an attempt to use the establishment to pursue a perceive enemy. Let us allow this dog to lie quietly.

Simply,

Daniel

Cordialement.

Confused with all which has been said on this thread?

Can you please respond to the question in the message [1] It will help us move on.

Thanks

Marcus

I am confused? The entire purpose of this list is for us to discuss and attempt to influence people?s opinions about policies. The only way we can ever come to consensus is by influencing people?s opinions through discussion.

That is the PDP, not an abuse of the PDP. Please explain the abuse to me.

Owen

Confused by your statement that ?attempting to influence people?s opinions about policies is an abuse of the PDP.?

As to my opinion of Jordi?s proposal, I think some portions of it have merit, but the devil is in the details. I have no interest in engaging in a public discussion of the finer points on this mater, however, as I have no real dog in that fight. I do not believe that Jordi?s proposal would increase transparency or significantly improve the quality of our fellowship program.
