Sami,

You STILL have not answered the question that Nishal, and now myself, and Timothy have asked in a direct fashion.

Where there any updates to this policy between Dakar and Tunis – Yes – or No

Andrew

Hi Andrew,

As nothing in the policy manual links the decision on a policy with its updates from previous meeting, the decison on this specific one or any other proposal consider the last update submitted to the rpd.

Our understanding is that the policy document is updated by the authors with the input made from the community but its not mandetory that each dicussion should change the text in the proposal document.

And for this specific proposal the authors take input from community, staff, legal and update the policy several times since it first draft. Thus I urge you and the community to consider the last version as well as the archive discussion to raise point of concerns that are not already addressed and discussed through the lifetime of the policy proposal.

Sami,

Let me ask the same question again – differently worded – for clarity and so there is no ambiguity.

Are you confirming that there were NO updates to this policy since it last failed to reach consensus at the previous meeting?

We know it’s not expired under the PDP policy – what we’re asking is for an unequivocal confirmation of if there were any updates since the policy failed to reach consensus at the previous PDP meeting.

Andrew

Dear Nishal,

I would like to refer to point 3.4.1 of the CPM (https://www.afrinic.net/policy/manual#PDP-Process) which stat that the draft policy expire after one year if its not updated, and the timer is restarted if a new version is submitted.

For the policy proposal you mentioned in you email, a new version was submitted on 10 April 2018, So its still in its active timeline.

I hope this clarify your inquiry.

dear afrinic policy officer,

could you unequivocally speak to the assertion above, please?
ie. have there been any updates to this policy since the previous
meeting.
