[rpd] policy proposal - Clarification on IPv6 Sub-Assignments

When we had this discussion at ARIN it looks like for a native English speaker was more on the other way (regarding temporary or non-permanently), if that's what you mean.

But anyway, even shorter:

"Temporarily provisioning address space to a third-party device, for use on a network managed and operated by the assignment holder, shall not be considered a sub-assignment. The provision of addresses for (semi-)permanent connectivity, such as broadband services is still considered a sub-assignment, with the exception of point-to-point links."

1) Here it is clear that is temporary and broadband is excluded
2) Is clear that the device is from a third party
3) Is open to a single or a set of addresses
4) your "and temporarily provided address space to third parties" I think is a duplication of the first part, or I fail to see something. The space is provided to a "third party device", "not" to a third party. If we accept a generic "third party" it allows circumventing it for use in "many devices" (a network)
5) I avoid "like ISP" because it disallows the hot-space case (in my opinion)

Regards,
Jordi

    Hi Jordi,

No, that limits it to non-permanent again. You are undoing exactly what I added... You are making it even more restrictive, not even allowing the VM use-case you mentioned in your previous email.
