Hi Willie,
I fully understand that the views in that statement are probably not representative of the members of the ISOC Cameroon chapter, and that the views within the chapter may differ, hence I have no quarrel with any individual member of the chapter. That being said however, as I have said to you in other emails off list - while the Cameroon ISOC chapter lets that statement stand without explicitly refuting it and stating that the position was NOT that of the chapter, a statement made by the president of the chapter, and signed as such, that makes no indication that it was written in personal capacity must stand as the official position of the chapter as an entity.
My concern is that I have yet to see the chapter come out and explicitly withdraw or contradict that statement - and therefore - it's pretty hard to judge the situation - but if ISOC Cameroon as an entity does dispute that statement - let us see an official withdrawal of the statement that states the statement is not reflective of the view of the entity - that is my challenge to you.
Rest assured - as I have said - I have no fight with any individual member of ISOC Cameroon - but I do right now have an issue with the fact that that statement has been left to stand - and I also commend the central ISOC body in coming out refuting the statement from their side - but right now - in my opinion - ISOC Cameroon needs to make its position clear, either through a second statement that withdraws and contradicts the first one, or a statement that stands by it.
Andrew

The statement I suppose you are talking of was not from the whole ISOC Cameroon Chapter even though it was issued by one member please...
