[rpd] Integrity Issues - publish the Nov'14 transcript ?

Is there some reason to believe that the board did not review the transcript in their deliberations?

Do we have some reason to believe that the entire board, having reviewed the transcript would
then lie to us in defense of Andrew Alston?

If your answer to both of these questions is no, then I see nothing to be gained in this matter from
community review of the transcript.

If your answer to either of these questions is yes, then I believe you see bigger problems with
the entire board that are much more important than this particular accusation.

I do not know, but it is my speculation that a transcript of such a board meeting likely contains
a number of discussions of a privileged nature which cannot properly be shared with the community.
I am all for greater transparency, but we must recognize that at some levels, the board deals
with things of a nature that they cannot be shared with the entire community.

Examples would be personnel matters for AfriNIC staffing. I’d be surprised if there weren’t
some discussions of the CEO recruitment process in that meeting transcript. It would be
unfair to the candidates to share the contents of such discussions with the community.

Again, I have no knowledge of the actual contents of the transcript, this is just my speculation,
but there may well be legitimate reasons that the board cannot share the transcript in its
entirety.

The board has said that there is no evidence of wrongdoing by Mr. Alston. I believe that if the
transcript contained any such evidence, they would not make such a statement. If you do not
believe that to be the case, you should call for a vote of no confidence in the entire board, the
community should vote accordingly, and we should move on.
