As pointed out by Paulos already, [ceteris paribus], we may get upto 6
years ahead......and I believe it is 2.7 /8s and not 1.7 as you
mentioned.

I am fine with this approach. I would add ARIN's policy implementation
to the list of things to watch

I wouldn't be too worried about the membership numbers themselves,
until they start to result into a corresponding increase in
allocation/assignments.
