I haven't got a v6 Assignment from AfriNIC so I can't tell wt the
practice is, but here is what I can say: The IPv6 Provider Independent
(PI) Assignment for End-Sites Policy AFPUB-2007-v6-001 allows End
Users to get more than a /48 once they can justify it.

Quote:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(3) Provider Independent (PI) address space:
* The provider independent (PI) assignment should be made from a specific block.
* The intial provider independent assignment size to an end-site
should be a /48, or a shorter prefix if the end-site can justify it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hmmm, the PI policy doesn't seem to cover subsequent
assignments......ok - that's for another time I guess

All you have to do is justify it.
Albeit, I must admit I see the disconnect between the policy and the
fee schedule - and possibly two parts of thefee schedule itself.

It states that (http://www.afrinic.net/index.php/en/library/membership-documents/273-membership-fees)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
End Users which will request IP address assignments from AFRINIC will
pay an Assignment fee of USD 2,500 for the minimum allocation size and
an annual flat USD 100 for maintenance/membership fee. Subsequent
membership/maintenance fees will be collected in advance every 3
(three) years.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

However lower, we see an "allocation:-) schedule" that suggests
requests above /48 have different fee levied on them.

I hope that AfriNIC will clarify as the policy above is very clear on this.

Regards.

Life is the educator's practical joke in which you spend the first
half learning, and the second half learning that everything you
learned in the first was a joke.
