Proposal Name: Transfer of IPv4 Addresses to Any Entity
Reference: AFPUB-2011-v4-001-draft-01
Author: Jackson Muthili
[1.0] Introduction
The proposal institutes unrestricted transfer of IPv4 address space from
any legacy member to any other entity without AfriNIC intervention, and
the transfer of IPv4 space from any AfriNIC member to another entity
with the only requirement that the transferee signs the AfriNIC RSA to
become a regular member.
[2.0] Actions to be Taken
Upon ratification, the document “LIR/End User Mergers, Acquisitions,
Takeovers and Closures”{a} will be updated accordingly, and the policy
implemented as written, almost immediately. There will also be slight
adjustments to the procedure for handling resource transfers, which is
an internal process document that will be adjusted as appropriate.
