Will it collate from each RIR, compile and represent the single version to all 5 RIRs for further comment? I am saying this because comments/contribution will be dynamic and its absolutely important to understand channel of communication.

The process as we have designed it now is as followed:

- Each region run their own Consultation process regionally till end of December 2014
- In January 2015, the NRO (through it PACG: Public Affair coordination Group and Executive Council) will work in consolidating the outcomes.
- The outcome of the consolidation work will be published for comment in February
- The final version of our proposal will be submitted to the ICG by the end of March/April.

As mentioned in my previous mail we may need to slightly adjust this if the ICG timeline stays as is.

Yes that was not clearly stated in the document but will be updated. In the mean time please send your comment(s) as you go through the document. We will likely not have a long period to collect comments.

> 2. The ICG decided to accept the GAC’s request for 3 additional seats, is there any process that will be put in inplace to first get this community feedback on decision making issues as this in future?

NO. There won’t be a special treatment to any stakeholder group. The GAC members (or government representatives) in the ICG will participate on equal footing with all the other members of the group. That is what we have tried to highlight in the response by saying that all decision of the ICG will be made by rough consensus and that government representative are encourage to express their view and contribute to the process through the multistakeholder process that will be run outside the ICG (by each IANA service customer group)

> 3. From the Charter, there are statement indicating openness of the ICG for contribution but at the same time ICG indicates that contributions will be received from the 3 components. How does the openness of the ICG becomes useful for actual end users since there is no clear communication means for such. Its one thing to be open and its another thing to provide a medium that exhibit openness.

Well, at each stage of its process the ICG will have a comment/contribution period with a process that will be communicated. For instance there will be a global comment period after all the contributions will be submitted. I need also to clarify something here: Although we are expecting direct proposal from the 3 direct customers of IANA services (Through there respective open process), there will be possibility for anyone that want to submit proposal if the which. It is however the expectation and the suggestion of the ICG (to simplify the process) to have everyone who want to contribute to try to do it through their respective community process.

Hopes these help.

This a good sign for such a diverse group. The group has agreed to accept the GAC’s request to have 5 representatives in the ICG instead of 2 as originally defined. The fives appointed are:
