[IANAOversight] End of first ICG meeting

Dear colleagues,

The first IGC meeting ends few hours ago in London with a declaration that is published at: https://www.icann.org/en/system/files/files/draft-icg-statement-18jul14-en.pdf 

My first observation is that the spirit of the group was great and people come in the meeting with a very open mind and a desire to successfully coordinate the process. This a good sign for such a diverse group. The group has agreed to accept the GAC’s request to have 5 representatives in the ICG instead of 2 as originally defined. The fives appointed are:

Manal Ismail (Egypt)
Heather Dryden (Canada)
Kavouss Arasteh (Iran)
Michael Niebel (European Commission)
Jandyr Ferreira dos Santos (Brazil)
