Dear DBWG,

Hope this email finds you in good health!

While looking at the detailed content of
"whois -q types" against AfriNIC's Whois server...
...i went through the domain: class's description;
then i was surprised that there is no dom-6net:
attribute :-) only the dom-net: one.

~°~
cacty at shalom:~$ whois -h whois.afrinic.net -v domain | grep
--after-context=7 -E "dom-net$"
dom-net

List of IP networks in a domain.

An IPv4 address is represented as a sequence of four
integers in the range from 0 to 255 separated by the
character dot ("."). For example, 128.9.128.5 represents a
valid IPv4 address.
cacty at shalom:~$

...are there real usecases of its use; under AfriNIC's
Whois Database?

Therefore, what about its version for the 6-familly?

This is from APNIC:
domain – APNIC <https://www.apnic.net/manage-ip/using-whois/guide/domain/>
~°~
dom-net This attribute is not applicable to reverse domains. Do not use
this attribute.

APNIC Whois Database uses RIPE v3 database software. Some functions and
options in RIPE software are not applicable to the APNIC Whois Database.

Comparing AfriNIC, APNIC and RIPE outputs:

What do you think about the presence of the following
three attributes of the domain: objects type within the
AfriNIC's Whois Database?

• sub-dom:
• dom-net:

...anything to learn?

Thanks.
