{move to a new thread from [*]}
Dear AfriNIC's Community,

...i start this new thread to anticipate more off-topic
emails to come soon under a thread obviously dedicated
to a great *free* initiative of "FUNDRAISING &
DONATIONS - TO KEEP AFRINIC RUNNING".

Please keep it as an opportunity with full right to prosper,
so that our service region could confirm its ability to find
appropriate countermeasures against attacks such as
this one...i recall that a similar situation occured with .AFRICA (the African
DNS TLD)...and maybe someone
like Mr Lucky, or someone with more clue, could share
his own view on perspectives or way forward...of course,
i expect something different to the hasty burial, quoted below :'-(

...someone, on this mailinglist, has already called for an
AU's reaction/intervention...maybe something to dig :-/

The above idea was to requesting a special status for AfriNIC from AU...

...many possibilies exist...if anyone want to share its
own perspective or a practical solution in how to really
save the Internet Numbers Registry System (RFC7020),
right now, under targeted attacks. AfriNIC being only the
first step...

About loans...i see it as a separate alternative or even
a normal one, coming with discounts; but to know if it's
allowed to any member to pay its fees for two or more
years in advance, AfriNIC has to inform us...but, feel
free to get in touch with the Staff to discuss about...

...if i could recall it too: maybe (in parallel with defensive
ones) a more offensive [1] joint action should be
consider the earliest possible. Knowing that, there is a
shared risk in case of a regional Internet shutdown due
to an inability for a regional RIR to maintain its core
registry operations.
