Dear AFRINIC members and community,

Sunday Folayan and Haitham El-Nakhal have stepped down from their positions
as Chair and Vice Chair of the AFRINIC Board, pending the conclusion of an
investigation into allegations that have been made against them.  They sent
email messages of resignation on 16 March 2018, and sent signed letters of
resignation today, 23 March 2018, after legal advice was received
yesterday, 22 March 2018, that signed letters were necessary.

The AFRINIC Board has elected Abibu Ntahigiye as Chair, and Christian Bope
as Vice Chair, for an interim period to be re-evaluated after the
conclusion of the investigation, but no later than 31 May 2018.  I
congratulate them on their appointment and wish them well.

Chers membres et communauté d'AFRINIC,

Sunday Folayan et Haitham El-Nakhal ont démissionné de leurs fonctions de
président et de vice-président du Conseil d'administration d'AFRINIC, en
attendant la conclusion d'une enquête sur les allégations qui ont été
formulées contre eux. Ils ont envoyé des courriels de démission le 16 mars
2018 et ont envoyé des lettres de démission signées aujourd'hui, le 23 mars
2018, après qu'un avis juridique ait été reçu hier, le 22 mars 2018,
indiquant que des lettres signées étaient nécessaires.

Le Conseil d'AFRINIC a élu Abibu Ntahigiye à la présidence, et Christian
Bope à la vice-présidence, pour une période intérimaire à réévaluer après
la fin de l'enquête, mais au plus tard le 31 mai 2018. Je les félicite pour
leur nomination et leur souhaite bien.
