I reject the idea that anybody should be suspended based on rumour and/or accusations without due process.

You are welcome to reiterate that allegations have been made, or to comment on what should be done.  But if you claim that the accusations are true, as you did, then I expect you to have evidence, and I call on you to reveal the evidence during the investigation.  If you don’t have evidence then you should not have made the claims.
