Members,

The organization has a board that did it fiduciary duty and approved a
budget that was set aside for various activities for the financial year
2018. Its therefore the CEO's responsibility to manage the said budget
since this is part of his responsibility.

Now, If the CEO received an invitation to an event as such and he made an
informed decision to attend the event and calendared it as per his recent
email, then I don't really see were the problem is to be honest.

I as a member have no problem that AfriNIC is attending this event.
