YES WE SHOULD.
While AFRINIC policy may not be right tool for this work, and organisation
who mission is "Spearhead Internet development in Africa" cannot keep
silent.
I like to see some intelligent arguement for and against
i) Is these issue of impact to Internet in Africa?
ii) Is these issue of impact to AFRINIC who want to "spearhead internet
development in africa?"
iii) Policy may not be correct way, what else can this community, AFRINIC
do that is align with its mission as not only INTERNET REGISTRY but also
NETWORK INFORMATION CENTER?
if you have not intelligent to add apart from "not AFRINIC mission", be
silent, that not an arguement.
I see same former board member and ISOC cameroon president who make
statement justifying shutdown contrary to ISOC principles is running for
board seat again. Please say this is not a delayed April Fool joke!
