[AFRINIC-Announce] Update on scheduled security maintenance

Dear colleagues,

Further to our security maintenance notice regarding the recently disclosed critical PHP vulnerabilities, we would like to provide an update on our remediation efforts.

Our technical teams have made significant progress in addressing the vulnerabilities across our infrastructure. Several affected systems, including member-facing services, have already been patched or secured through additional protective measures. The remaining systems are being addressed according to their exposure and criticality. For older applications that cannot be patched directly, we are implementing access restrictions and preparing their migration, replacement or decommissioning as appropriate.

These activities remain a priority for our teams, with the objective of fully mitigating the vulnerabilities while minimising disruption to members and the community. Some services may remain temporarily unavailable or accessible only through restricted channels until the necessary security measures have been completed. We will continue to provide updates through our status page as work progresses.
