Dear AFRINIC Community,


The AFRINIC Board of Directors is currently undertaking the process of reconstituting the AFRINIC Governance Committee, whose role is to provide advice and guidance to the AFRINIC Board, AFRINIC Membership, and the wider community on matters relating to governance.


In accordance with its Terms of Reference, the Governance Committee comprises:


  *     Three (3) members elected by the AFRINIC Membership;

  *     Two (2) members appointed by the AFRINIC Board of Directors;

  *     One (1) AFRINIC Board member appointed as a non-voting liaison;

  *     The AFRINIC Legal Adviser as a non-voting member; and

  *     One or more representatives from the AFRINIC Secretariat as non-voting members.

The AFRINIC Board started the reconstitution process with the election of the three (3) members to be selected by the AFRINIC Membership and it was successfully concluded during the AFRINIC Annual General Members Meeting (AGMM2026) held in Nairobi, Kenya.

The Board has now reached the next stage inviting volunteers from the AFRINIC community to be considered for appointment as the two (2) Board-appointed members of the Governance Committee. The appointments will be for a one-year term and a two-year term respectively, in accordance with Section 5.1.4 and 5.1.5 of the Governance Committee’s Terms of Reference. The terms of office shall ordinarily commence on 1 January and expire on 31 December.

The Board is calling upon members of the community with relevant governance experience, commitment to transparency, and an interest in contributing to the continued strengthening of AFRINIC’s governance framework to put themselves forward and submit their application to the

said position.

Pursuant to Section 5.1.2 of the Terms of Reference, interested individuals

  *   must have their principal place of residence in different sub-regions within the AFRINIC service region.

  *   A brief biography outlining their professional background and relevant experience; and a statement explaining their motivation and reasons for seeking appointment to the Governance Committee

Appel à candidatures : Reconstitution du Comité de gouvernance d’AFRINIC

Chers membres de la communauté AFRINIC,

Le Conseil d’administration d’AFRINIC a engagé le processus de reconstitution du Comité de gouvernance d’AFRINIC, dont le rôle est de fournir des avis et des orientations au Conseil d’administration, aux membres d’AFRINIC ainsi qu’à l’ensemble de la communauté sur les questions relatives à la gouvernance.

Conformément à ses Termes de référence, le Comité de gouvernance est composé de :

  *   trois (3) membres élus par les membres d’AFRINIC ;

  *   deux (2) membres nommés par le Conseil d’administration d’AFRINIC ;

  *   un (1) membre du Conseil d’administration d’AFRINIC désigné en qualité d’agent de liaison sans droit de vote ;

  *   le Conseiller juridique d’AFRINIC, en qualité de membre sans droit de vote ; et

  *   un ou plusieurs représentants du Secrétariat d’AFRINIC, en qualité de membres sans droit de vote.

Le Conseil d’administration a entamé le processus de reconstitution par l’élection des trois (3) membres devant être choisis par les membres d’AFRINIC. Cette étape a été menée à bien lors de l’Assemblée générale annuelle des membres d’AFRINIC, AGMM 2026, tenue à Nairobi, au Kenya.

Le Conseil d’administration passe maintenant à l’étape suivante et invite les membres de la communauté AFRINIC à soumettre leur candidature afin d’être considérés pour les deux (2) postes de membres du Comité de gouvernance nommés par le Conseil d’administration.

Conformément aux sections 5.1.4 et 5.1.5 des Termes de référence du Comité de gouvernance, les nominations seront respectivement effectuées pour un mandat d’un an et pour un mandat de deux ans. Les mandats commencent normalement le 1er janvier et prennent fin le 31 décembre.

Le Conseil d’administration invite les membres de la communauté disposant d’une expérience pertinente en matière de gouvernance, attachés aux principes de transparence et souhaitant contribuer au renforcement de la gouvernance d’AFRINIC, à soumettre leur candidature.

Conformément à la section 5.1.2 des Termes de référence, les personnes intéressées doivent  résider principalement dans les différentes régions de service d’AFRINIC.

Les candidats sont priés de soumettre :

  *   une courte biographie présentant leur parcours professionnel et leur expérience pertinente ; et

  *   une déclaration expliquant leur motivation ainsi que les raisons pour lesquelles ils souhaitent être nommés au Comité de gouvernance.

Les candidatures doivent être envoyées à eoi at afrinic.net, au plus tard le mardi 28 juillet 2026.

Le Conseil d’administration se réjouit de recevoir les candidatures de la communauté et remercie l’ensemble des membres pour leur engagement et leur soutien continus.
