[AFRINIC-Announce] Maxim Nyansa IT Solutions is the 2019 FIRE Award winner

Maxim Nyansa IT Solutions of Accra, Ghana, is this year’s FIRE Africa Award winner. The organisation beat 53 others to emerge the winner for this prestigious award.

FIRE Award winners receive a cash prize of $3,000 USD and get an all-expenses covered trip to an IGF conference for the year of the Awards. This year’s IGF Conference will be held in Berlin, Germany, from 25 to 29 November 2019.

The FIRE Awards are given to initiatives that are on their last stage of implementation or that have finalised activities already.

The call for Awards proposals was opened on 26 April 2019 and lasted until 31 May 2019. Within this period, 54 proposals from 16 African countries (100% up from last year) were received. A 4-phase screening exercise for the Award proposals started on 10 June 2019.
 
The exercise was concluded on 6 August 2019 with the selection of the winner for single category (ICT for Development) for the current funding cycle.

Maxim Nyansa d’ IT Solutions Accra, du Ghana, est le lauréat du prix FIRE Africa cette année. Cette organisation a émergé parmi les 53 autres pour remporter ce prix prestigieux.

Les lauréats du prix FIRE reçoivent un prix en espèces de 3 000 dollars US et obtiennent un voyage couvert, toutes dépenses confondues, à une conférence de l'IGF. La conférence IGF de cette année se tiendra à Berlin, en Allemagne, du 25 au 29 novembre 2019.

Les prix FIRE sont attribués à des initiatives qui sont dans leur dernière phase d'implémentation ou qui ont déjà finalisé leurs activités.

L'appel à propositions de subventions a été ouvert le 26 avril 2019 et a duré jusqu'au 31 mai 2019. Durant cette période, 54 propositions de 16 pays africains (100% de plus que l'année dernière) ont été reçues. Un exercice de sélection des propositions de subvention en 4 phases a débuté le 10 juin 2019.

L'exercice s'est achevé le 6 août 2019 avec la sélection du lauréat dans l'unique catégorie (TIC pour le développement) pour le cycle de financement actuel.
