> MAURITIUS - PENANG, MALAYSIA – SAN JOSE, USA - LUXEMBOURG, November 30, 2012 – The IPv6 Forum Education Logo Program Committee releases a new program; The IPv6 Education System Administration Certification Logo Program. This program has been largely defined by Mukom Akong T. (AFRINIC) with inputs from Nishal Goburdhan (AFRINIC), Owen Delong (Huricane Electric) and Daniel Shaw (AFRINIC), to certify System Administrator Courses, Trainers and System Administrators with the Gold Logo level.
> In order to be certified, the candidates must cover all mandatory topics outlined in section 3.7 in the requirements specifications. Only the Gold level of certification is provided by the IPv6 Forum Certified System Administrator program.

> “The IPv6 System Administrator program is for the doers and makers of the IPv6 Internet. From his experience teaching IPv6 to more than 1000 engineers over the last three years, Mukom has designed a concrete curriculum for everyone to benefit from.” states Latif Ladid, President, IPv6 Forum, Senior Researcher at University of Luxembourg, Security and Trust (SnT) Center.
>
>
>
> “This program targets network administrator to help them acquire the skills to deploy, run and troubleshoot IPv6 enabled networks. This is an important and welcome addition in our portfolio of IPv6 Forum education logos program.” states Yanick Pouffary General Chairperson for the IPv6 Logo Programs (Ready & Enabled & Education), IPv6 Forum Fellow and NAv6TF Technology Director.

> “Most IPv6 training has traditionally focused on the networking aspects and targeted network engineers. However as in most organisations, systems administrators tend to be different from network engineers and so there is a need to specifically target them with training aligned with their typical job functions. This program is in response to feedback from over 1000 participants at IPv6 workshops in 25 countries. Its objective is to teach systems administrators the skills required to plan, adapt, build, troubleshoot and maintain the required services infrastructure that will further drive IPv6 adoption.” - states Mukom Akong Tamon, Training Manager, AFRINIC, Mauritius
>
>
>
> “In addition to the IPv6 Network and Security Engineering Program, IPv6 Forum Global introduces IPv6 System Administration Program. In the past couple of years, IPv6 adoption has been rising sharply and the introduction of this program is indeed timely. This program is imperative for system administrators as it allows them to understand the implication of IPv6 and its implementation in systems and services managed by them. ” states Selvakumar Manickam of NAV6 Center of Excellence, Univ Sains Malaysia, Co-Chair IPv6 Education Certification Program, Penang, Malaysia
>
>
>
> “This new program will cultivate needed IPv6 skills among System Administrators. This effort will fill-up a critical IPv6 knowledge gap between network engineers and system administrators to enable smoother end-to-end IPv6 deployments which includes IPv6 applications and services.” states Salman Asadullah, Cisco Distinguished Engineer, IPv6 Forum Fellow, Broadband Forum Ambassador, Co-Chair IPv6 Education Certification Program, USA
