With GNU whois, it is "whois -h whois.afrinic.net -- -t domain" :-)

OK, I should have thought of it. Unfortunately, there is no
test-dbm at afrinic.net, only a auto-dbm at afrinic.net so I really created
the in-addr.arpa :-(

I wonder what permission checking is in place. inetnum 217.64.96.0 -
217.64.96.255 has a maintainer, has no "mnt-domains" but I was able to
create 96.64.217.in-addr.arpa (let's see if it is actually delegated).
