vTechDay
at ICANN 84
(Dublin)
The ICANN Tech Working Group is again planning a technical workshop at
the ICANN 84 meeting (Dublin)
As the meeting will be hybrid so will be vTechDay which is currently
penciled in for Monday, 2025-10-27 for blocks:
Block 2 10:45 - 12:15
Block 3 13:15 - 14:30
Block 4 15:00 - 16:00
Block 5 16:30 - 17:30
All times are local (Dublin) time.
We shall try to accommodate the time zone of virtual presenters in
setting the agenda.
The TechDay workshop has been a part of ICANN meetings since 2006 and
has provided a forum for both experienced and new people to meet,
present and discuss technical topics related to registry and DNS work
and security.
We are specially interested in:
1. DNSSEC
2. DNS Abuse Prevention and Mitigation Tools
3. Best (security) management practices, lines of defense, to
protect Registries from bad actors, attacks or malware, or even
reports of failures
4. Open Source Tools that have been found helpful
a) We would in particular like to hear about git based DNS zone
management, especially simple setups usable as example for other
(smaller) (cc|g)TLDs.
b) We would also like to hear about further RDAP client
implementations for the command line, devices and libraries.
If there are enough proposals we might have round tables.
5. In addition, we welcome suggestions for additional topics
The ccNSO's DNS Abuse Committee has expressed an interest in organizng a
round table looking at detection/end-to-end case studies from a
(cc)TLD perspective and we are proposing Block 2 (ie 75 minutes
(including the opening remarks)).
Interest in participating should be expressed by email to eitheror all of
Nick.Wenban-Smith at nominet.uk
bruce.tonkin at auda.org.au
bart.boswinkel at icann.org
keeping us in copy at ccNSO-techday at icann.org.
If you are interested in presenting on any other topic, please email us
at ccNSO-techday at icann.org or reply to this email.
We hope that you can join us and request that you disseminate this
Request to other lists where it might of interest.
greetings, el
