I'm very curious what the stats are actually measuring...

Over six million hosts for South Africa? There are about 1.3 million ZA
Domains. There were about 25% non-ZA domains in use in South Africa (4:1
ratio, ZA:Non-ZA) (the https://dnsstudy.africa project), so I'm guessing
that there are a little less than two million domains in South Africa in
total. So what does 6 Million hosts mean?
Many Domains do not have Web Sites, others have place holders (website
coming soon messages).
Kenya just recently reached 100,000 domains and three years ago - there
were more non KE domains than KE domains (5:4 ratio, non-KE:KE)...
Perhaps AFTLD needs to have the DNS Study re-run - and this time get as
many ccTLD's to opt in (with Zone copies) as possible along with the
Observatory (all of which I'd love to be involved with).
Look at
https://dnsstudy.africa/AfricanDNSMarketStudyPresentation2017-06-23.pdf,
slide 17 onwards for the recommendations.
(We still have all the code - etc!)
Also
https://dnsstudy.africa/AfricaDomainNameSystemMarketStudy2016FinalReportVersion1.03h.pdf
from page 147 (of 213) goes into various stats.
