*1. FBI warns Americans as cyber crime on dating sites is up to 70% *
This may just be a tip of the ice-berg and the figures may actually be
higher because for every incident reported, there are others where the
victims don't come forward. Possible solutions could involve creating
awareness about the need for persons to be careful on the dating sites.
They could be taught about performing reverse image searches to verify
images sent by a person. They should also be encouraged not to share their
personal information online.

2. *Internet Shutdown in India*
It could be a potential abuse of internet freedom. It also shuts down one
of the channels used for non-violent methods of protesting. This could lead
to a potential rise in the use of violent methods to agitate for their
positions.

3. *FBI to Monitor Facebook domestic threats in real time*
The surveillance of persons online treats social media users as suspects.
Surveillance tends to affect the marginalized communities such as African
Americans disproportionately. There needs to be a discussion on the rights
of the internet users that are being infringed by the surveillance to
determine whether they can be taken away due to a fishing expedition. There
is little guarantee that the data that is mined on the users will not be
unlawfully used.

4. *Twitter unauthorized Data Use*
It calls into question the effectiveness of twitter settings. This is
because most persons choose the option not to have their information shared
with third parties. Twitter should explain the steps being taken to prevent
similar occurrences in the future. They should also name the persons
responsible so that they can be held personally responsible. Twitter should
also quantify the harm to persons that was caused by the use of person's
data for advertising purposes.
