Dear Colleagues,



We would like to thank those who have submitted the papers to date and
remind other authors of the extended deadline of 31 December.



We would appreciate if you circulate this Call for Papers to relevant
mailing lists, colleagues and publish the links on relevant sites to raise
awareness of this opportunity.



Please find below the Call for Papers for IST-Africa 2016.



IST-Africa 2016 (11 - 13 May, South Africa) is the eleventh in an annual
series of Ministerial level Technology Research Conferences, supported by
the European Commission and African Union Commission. The 6th Annual
IST-Africa Living Lab Thematic Working Group Meeting will take place on 10
May as a pre-conference event.

IST-Africa provides a platform in Africa to strengthen Innovation, Science
and Technology related policy dialogues within Africa and between Africa
and Europe, supporting the goals of Africa-EU Strategic Partnership. It
also provides an opportunity to identify potential partners for future
research cooperation under Horizon 2020. IST-Africa is a unique community
that brings together cross disciplinary stakeholders from public, private,
education and research, societal sector with end user communities focused
on ICT and STI Research and Innovation.

The scientific programme for IST-Africa 2016 is based on an open Call for

- ICT Regulatory Frameworks

- Living Labs, Collaborative Open Innovation

- Mobile Applications (including mServices, mEducation)

- Next Generation Computing: Big Data, Cloud Computing,

- Data Localisation, Internet of Things (IoT)

- Open Source Software - Applications

- Technology-enhanced Learning and eSkills

- Societal Implications of Technology



Interested presenters are encouraged to prepare an 8 page paper (4,000 -
5,000) words following the IST-Africa paper guidelines and paper template
for submission online by 31 December. For more information, please visit

All papers are double blind peer reviewed. Accepted authors will then be
invited to submit a final paper taking account of feedback provided for
inclusion in the conference proceedings by 29 February.

Each presenter can present one paper in the Programme.

Full Papers accepted for the Conference Proceedings and presented during
the conference will be submitted for publication to IEEE Xplore as an
additional dissemination channel.
