Thanks for your e-mail. Here are my replies to your questions:
 
Q1) Did ICANN tell you the reason why you could not get financial support?
Answer:
The reason why we did not get financial support from ICANN is that we failed to meet two of the three criteria for support. Although we met the financial need and financial capability criteria, we did not meet the public interest criteria. This, in and of itself is ironical because we were disqualified not because we did not have the financial need, or demonstrate the financial capability, but because we did not meet the "public interest" criteria which itself has a number of components. The published SARP results (http://newgtlds.icann.org/en/applicants/candidate-support/sarp-results-20mar13-en.pdf) do not give details of how we scored on the various components of the public interest criteria, although a recent Webinar on the results (https://community.icann.org/display/atlarge/At-Large+SARP+Briefing+Session+-+08+May+2013 - please scroll down to the Child Pages - Action Items EN or FR) asked that these details get published. At any rate, that's all
 water under the bridge for us now, given that we have already withdrawn our application.
 
Q2) What is the financial implication of  your withdrawal?  Are you loosing also money?
Answer:
As per the Financial Assistance Handbook, we get a full refund of the part application fee of $47,000 that we paid.

Dear all,

This is to inform you that our UMMAH TLD application was withdrawn last Thurs. (May 23).

As you might know, we did not succeed in getting financial support from ICANN. Our request for reconsideration was also turned down, as indicated on the ICANN Web site (http://www.icann.org/en/groups/board/governance/reconsideration - please scroll down to Reconsideration 13-1: Ummah Digital, Ltd.). We also were not able to get enough support for our request to be retained in the program instead of being removed from further consideration per the rules in the Financial Assistance Handbook, so we had not choice but to withdraw our application.
So I thought I should write to you to inform you of the withdrawal of our application, and express my thanks to all of you for your support.
