[AfrICANN-discuss] 1ST MEETING OF THE INFORMATION SOCIETY IMPLEMENTATION GROUP

Dear colleagues,
Attached find the draft agenda of the P8/Information Society implementation group meeting that will be held on 11-12 May in Gaborone, in the context of the IST-Africa 2011 Conference (www.ist-africa.org).

S&T and ICT Ministries from 20 African countries have already confirmed their participation to the meeting including Botswana, South Africa, Lesotho, Namibia, Mozambique, Tanzania, Uganda, Kenya, Burundi, Senegal, Mauritius, Cameroon, Egypt, Zambia, Tunisia, Ethiopia, Ghana, Swaziland, Malawi, Burkina Faso. Representatives from the different African RECS are also expected to be present.

At European level, Portugal, Finland and France already confirmed participation; the meeting will also include representatives from the EU-Africa Business forum, UNESCO, ITU and the World Bank
