Dear Colleagues,

Thank you very much for the valuable contributions. The ARAPKE itself and its Flagship Projects wasn’t started only last week and the fruits that we are picking now was a result of continuous hard work of many people from AUC and from EC for the last 4 years. However this is not the only project that we managed to get it through also ALICT project will kick start soon with support from the Government of Finland.

Usually such projects will be steered be a special committee composed of the key stockholders and supported by an advisory board of experts but sure there will be a special agency or institution to implement and process the programme directly.

The attached document will help you to realize the AFP more and clearly.

Please feel free to share with us any productive ideas or concerns.

Regards

Thank you colleagues for coming up with such questions..

I now realise that I was not alone who did was not aware of this. This reflects on the level of cooperation or inclusion in such initiatives.

Can Esam please share with us the proposal that went to EU so that we know what to expect? It is like one saying, "..Ooops the baby is here - what next?"

Lets keep walking ahead.

Yassin

Badru, Esam,

Regarding implementation,

this whole thing needs a good re discussion in view of peering and interconnection forum AfPIF and other works related to this area.

Its easy to miss but end up with money spent (no deja vu please)

Great news.

Any ideas on the implementation. I do hope we put together a good team that makes good use of these funds.

Dear All,

I’m very glad to inform you that we have received a formal approval notice from the “EU-Africa Infrastructure Trust Fund” for the AXIS project. The total amount of financing from the Trust Fund is equivalent to 5,1 million EUR.

Please find attached a copy of the document received from the Secretariat of the Fund hosted by the EIB.

Kind regards,
