Dear Colleagues,
 
AfriNIC is pleased to invite you to attend AfriNIC-9, scheduled to take place at the
Sheraton Addis, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, 22 – 28 Nov 2008.  AfriNIC-9 is the second of two
Public Policy meetings held annually that is attended by AfriNIC members, policy makers,
regulators, global RIR organizations, university representatives, and other leaders in
the Internet development community.  There are generally 150-200 participants at the
events and are from various parts of Africa and countries outside of Africa.  This event
is open to the public and is hosted by the Ethiopian Telecommunications Corporation (ETC).  
 
This event will include IPv6 training sessions, presentations from Industry leaders on
issues that affect the overall success of the Internet throughout Africa, best practices
discussions, Public Policy forums, ICANN consultation session, IPv6 day, discussions on
Internet Exchange Points, elections, and social events.  The actual agenda can be

AfriNIC is offering a few fellowships to attend this event.  The fellowship is reserved
to people from small organisations (Universities and journalists also included) actively
involved in Internet Operation or ICT Policy in their countries and the community and
who can positively and actively contribute to IP address management awareness in the
AfriNIC region of service.  Additional information may be obtained at the meeting website.
 
Also please be advised that the “Call for Papers” is still open if you or a member of
your organization would like to present on a related topic.  For additional detail on

continuous support and participation in the Internet development issues in our region! 
 
Also, registration is currently open, and we encourage you to book your hotel rooms
