<html aria-label="message body"><head><meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8"></head><body style="overflow-wrap: break-word; -webkit-nbsp-mode: space; line-break: after-white-space;"><div dir="auto" style="overflow-wrap: break-word; -webkit-nbsp-mode: space; line-break: after-white-space;"><span style="font-size: 14px;">[Version en français au bas]</span><div><span style="font-size: 14px;"><br>Dear Africa Internet Community,</span></div><div><span style="font-size: 14px;"><br>At the core of Internet infrastructure in Africa stands AFRINIC, playing a vital role in supporting Internet technology development across the continent and fostering Internet self-governance through our bottom-up, multi-stakeholder Internet number distribution policy development. <br><br>AFRINIC is the Regional Internet Registry (RIR) serving Africa and the Indian Ocean region. It is entrusted with the distribution and management of critical Internet Number Resources, including Internet Protocol (IP) address space (IPv4 and IPv6) and Autonomous System Numbers (ASNs).</span></div><div><span style="font-size: 14px;"><br>Each year, AFRINIC, along with its AF* partners, organise two major public meetings that bring together policymakers, technical experts, industry leaders, and organisations involved in Internet development. These meetings provide a space for Internet policy discussions, technical training, collaboration, and the sharing of operational experiences among stakeholders.</span></div><div><span style="font-size: 14px;"><br></span><div><span style="font-size: 14px;"><span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space: pre;">    </span>• <b>Africa Internet Summit (AIS)</b> – generally held over five (5) days in June and organised jointly with the African Network Operators Group (AfNOG) and other African Internet organisations. The Summit includes technical training sessions, presentations, policy discussions, and the AFRINIC Annual General Members Meeting.</span></div><div><span style="font-size: 14px;"><span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space: pre;">    </span>• <b>AFRINIC Stand-alone Meeting</b> – usually organised in November and lasting approximately three (3) days, focusing on Internet policy development, workshops, and community engagement.</span></div><span style="font-size: 14px;"><div><br></div>On average, AFRINIC meetings attract more than 500 participants from over 50 countries in Africa and abroad. Attendees typically include representatives from Internet Service Providers, government institutions, regulatory authorities, academic and research networks, civil society organisations, network operators, Internet Exchange Points, telecommunications companies, and technology vendors.<br><br></span></div><div><span style="font-size: 14px;"><b>Why Host an AFRINIC Meeting?</b><br><br></span></div><div><span style="font-size: 14px;">Hosting an AFRINIC meeting allows organisations to engage with a wide range of regional and international stakeholders involved in Internet development. It offers visibility within the Internet community and creates opportunities to build partnerships with industry leaders, policymakers, and technical experts.<br>Local hosts also have the opportunity to highlight national initiatives, showcase digital infrastructure developments, and connect with organisations working to expand connectivity and strengthen Internet governance across Africa.<br><br></span></div><div><span style="font-size: 14px;"><b>Requirements for Hosting</b><br><br></span></div><div><span style="font-size: 14px;">To facilitate successful meetings, AFRINIC generally looks for host cities and venues that offer:</span><div><span style="font-size: 14px;"><span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space: pre;">    </span>• An international airport with regular regional and international connections</span></div><div><span style="font-size: 14px;"><span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space: pre;">    </span>• A venue with modern conference facilities capable of accommodating more than 350 participants</span></div><div><span style="font-size: 14px;"><span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space: pre;">    </span>• Multiple meeting rooms to support parallel sessions and workshops</span></div><div><span style="font-size: 14px;"><span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space: pre;">    </span>• Reliable high-speed Internet connectivity</span></div><div><span style="font-size: 14px;"><span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space: pre;">    </span>• Accommodation options within proximity to the meeting venue</span></div><div><span style="font-size: 14px;"><span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space: pre;">    </span>• A safe and secure environment for international delegates</span></div><span style="font-size: 14px;"><div><br></div>Local hosts also assist with meeting logistics, outreach to local stakeholders, and introductions to potential sponsors.<br><br></span></div><div><span style="font-size: 1
