<div dir="ltr"><div>I am presuming that the intent here is to align with the descent down to Cape Town around Africa Tech Festival </div><div><br></div><div>I can see the argument from Jordi on this but honestly especially with the value of in person discussion along the edges of the meeting (and the fact that there are required to be 2 PPMs per year) and looking at it I don't think the PPM will be longer than 3 hours I am supportive of the holding of a PPM at this juncture in Cape Town on that date. I suspect some intelligent use of time zone differences could be helpful.</div><div><br></div><div>I am not aware of an absolute prohibition but if there is then naturally I am a proponent of AFRINIC following clear commitments and honouring agreements but I suspect it is a little fuzzier than that. There is an agreement among all the RIRs, IETF, ICANN, ISOC, etc. to avoid clashes in their meetings.<br>
<br>
This is being organized the SAME week as the IETF in San Francisco. This was fixed many years ago.<br>
<br>
Clearly the AFRINIC MUST change the dates for this meeting.<br>
