<html aria-label="message body"><head><meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8"></head><body style="overflow-wrap: break-word; -webkit-nbsp-mode: space; line-break: after-white-space;">Having worked in policy development, and with customers in all the RIRs, I can’t agree with that.<div><br></div><div>You always think your country is the worst (at least that was my personal view about my own country before I started traveling), but then you discover that good and bad things happen everywhere, just different cultures, different views, where you may consider that some things are more or less important compared to another country or region.</div><div><br></div><div>It is true that if you compare “the global south” vs “the global north”, it may seem that one is less advanced that the other, and it may be even true for example in terms of broadband availability, but there are, for example, several ISPs in South America that are more advanced in terms of IPv6 deployment than in other countries in the EU (including Spain).</div><div><br></div><div>All is a matter of when, so yes, the difference is timing, nothing else nothing less. This is also the reason, for example, policies in the RIRs are very equivalent in the different regions, some times, with some delays (like it happened in Afrinic with transfers, same it where a bit later in LACNIC compared with the other RIRs).</div><div><br></div><div>I think if you start thinking “Africa” is different, is worst or something like that, you create the problem, so please, don’t assume that.<br><div><br id="lineBreakAtBeginningOfMessage"><div>
