I agree with Sunday that we are in the middle of the process and
it seems to be going towards the natural thing which is the WG to
choose the new Co-Chairs, somehow.

But in any case (any case really!) it is NOT possible the
Board to choose them. There is not a single line in the PDP that
allows or even indicates that. Even if the entire WG right now
wished that would not be possible still.
Every time we make up something new it is either something out of
the rules of at least the only serves to confuse even more the
whole thing.
Let's just deal with the actual reality and accept it that Board
choosing Co-Chairs is is NOT possible at any circumstances, even
in a urgent or most justified scenario. It is out of the current
rules and if it is our of the rules there is no noble and
justified scenario that can change that.

I personally support that we modify the PDP to allow the Board to
choose temporary/interim Co-Chairs under certain circumstances but
that can only be done when we have new Co-Chairs in place
and be able to do the due process in order to adjust the PDP.

The Working group found itself in a situation that though
difficult, will help it reorganize and be better.

The group is now in the middle of a process, and it is pre-emptive
at this stage to say "it is clearer that the WG is unable to

I do not support this form of abdication on the bases of
precedence due to some other not-so-similar extraordinary
situations. How many people, and how many policies were in
discussions then? Very very few!

Going this route will indeed becomes a stronger precedence much
harder to break.

I urge you to please wait for the process to fail, then you will
be fully justified, and I will gladly support this option.

I would encourage board to act as it is clearer that the WG is

Hi SM,

No, my question is not about the CPM/PDP text. I think it is
clear for everybody the distinction there between "AFRINIC
organization/membership" vs "AFRINIC community/PDWG".

My question is about the Board interpretation of the Article
11.4 of the bylaws. Is the Board understanding that they can
(in urgent situations, such as the one we are facing) adopt
policies only related to Resources or also policies that not
being related to resources but modifying the PDP?
